Energy Sales Specialist - South Central Iowa Territory Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to the following:

Energy Sales & Customer Service

Develop and support strategies for selling to customers with energy products that meet the needs of their operations. Understand specific product and service offerings well enough to make unbiased, customized recommendations.

Provide unmatched customer service before, during and after the sale. Balance achieving sales goals with servicing customers.

Identify potential customers and work to build relationships with prospects.

Understand and work to achieve personal and company-wide sales goals. Periodically provide reports to Energy Sales Manager, Department Manager or Operations Manager as requested.

Work to resolve customer disputes as needed. Escalate disputes to Energy Sales Manager for assistance when necessary.

Work with assigned vendor representatives.

Energy Operations

Assist with energy operations as needed to service customers in a timely fashion.

Communicate new energy product offerings or procedures with energy drivers, customer service representatives.

Communicate customer needs to energy drivers, customer service representatives and others involved in the customer lifecycle. Work as a team to provide excellent service.

Learning & Development

Remain knowledgeable and involved in sales marketing programs of the energy department.

Become proficient in cooperative’s sales, accounting, and booking processes.

Identify areas of opportunity in energy and collaborate with other NEW Coop team members to capitalize on them.

Expand knowledge of energy and the cooperative business model. Adopt a mindset of continuous improvement.

Attend various trainings to deepen knowledge of products, services, and safety.

Seek additional opportunities to grow knowledge of sales strategies.

Other

Promote the company culture that is focused on providing completive sales, service, and employee development.

Written and oral communication to Department Managers, Energy Sales Manager and Energy Operations Manager as required.

Maintain a strong professional network to connect with future potential talent or customers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Previous sales experience is preferred.

Must possess or have the ability to develop sales skills. Utilize persuasive negotiation skills, customer service, conflict resolution and working independently.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be licensed and insurable to drive. Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsement preferred.

Must possess an array of interpersonal communication skills for interacting with varying personalities, roles, circumstances and emotional status of teammates, customers, and contractors.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Understand the seasonality of the customer business and the in-season time commitment.

Must possess proficiencies of common computer programs and processes.

Possesses problem solving capability and understands the operational processes.

Collaborate with sales, energy drivers, customer service representatives and credit department

Continually upgrades and demonstrates knowledge of the job.

Attend designated training solutions

Qualifications Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Agriculture Studies or related field.

Licenses & Certifications Required Driver's License
