Pre-Closing Paralegal

Core Responsibilities The Pre-Closing Paralegal ensures every transaction moves toward the finish line accurately and on time. Primary duties include:
Document Management:
Prepare and organize essential files for real estate and finance closings.
Title Review:
Evaluate title commitments and surveys to identify and resolve potential issues early.
Coordination:
Order and track third-party reports, including payoffs, lien letters, and UCC searches.
Communication:
Act as a central point of contact for lenders, borrowers, and opposing counsel to gather necessary signatures and data.
Timeline Oversight:
Monitor strict deadlines to ensure all pre-closing conditions are met before the settlement date.
Administrative Support:
Draft affidavits, update closing checklists, and maintain digital case files.
Professional Qualifications To excel in this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience:
2–5 years of specific experience in real estate or finance law.
Education:
A Paralegal Certificate or Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document software; experience with title or e-recording platforms is a major plus.
Knowledge:
A solid understanding of title searches, loan documentation, and municipal requirements.
