Position Description:
The primary function of this position is to provide visitors with tourist information about the Town of Abingdon and the surrounding region, at both the Abingdon Visitor Center and the Virginia Creeper Trail Welcome Center. A Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for taking inventory and stocking visitor guides, brochures, and magazines. They will conduct visitor surveys, log daily visitor statistics, and prepare mailings. Some light cleaning is required to maintain the appearance of the Visitors Center. The CSR will serve as a receptionist for the offices in the building and perform other duties as assigned. Availability on some weekends required. Skills and Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent Must have a working knowledge of computers Customer Service experience is required Cash handling or retail experience Must possess a high level of organization and accuracy Possess a pleasant personality The ability to remain calm and helpful in stressful situations General knowledge of the Town of Abingdon and important buildings This position will remain open until filled.
