As our Sr. Medical Writer, you will… Be responsible for creating medically accurate and account-appropriate content for healthcare professionals and patients across various communication formats. This role requires strong conceptual abilities and the ability to master multiple therapeutic areas quickly. You will collaborate with medical and copy teams to research, write, and edit content, ensuring its scientific validity and clinical applicability. You will also secure and reference reliable sources to support medical and scientific statements. Responsibilities include attending client reviews and internal meetings, effectively communicating with team members and clients, and adhering to project deadlines, budgets, and content limitations. You will proactively address challenges, present persuasive points of view, and maintain strong relationships with the Accounts, Creative, and Editorial teams. Staying current with medical developments and publications in therapeutic areas is essential for success in this role.

Be Accountable and Responsible

Write medically accurate, account-appropriate content in various communication forms for healthcare professionals or patients

Demonstrate strong conceptual abilities and work within multiple therapeutic areas, quickly gaining command of new areas

Collaborate with medical and copy teams to research, write, and edit content in distinct therapeutic categories, ensuring scientific validity and clinical applicability

Research and secure references to ensure the accuracy of medical/scientific statements and brand claims

Ensure annotated content is fully cited and supported by reliable sources

Attend client review meetings and ensure feedback is appropriately executed

Attend kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings as needed

Effectively and proactively communicate with team members and clients

Adhere to project parameters, including deadlines, budget, and content limitations

Present points of view articulately and persuasively within MERGE and with clients

Proactively address challenges

Maintain strong relationships with Account, Creative, and Editorial teams

Stay current with medical developments and publications in therapeutic areas

These are the qualifications we’re looking for

PhD or PharmD in Life Sciences, or equivalent work experience

1-2 years of experience in medical advertising or medical communications. Prior agency experience is preferred but not required

Immunology, neurology, or rare disease background preferred

Demonstrates a strong commitment to evidence-based medicine and public health principles, with comfort contributing to immunization-focused initiatives

Demonstrated experience navigating evidence across varying levels of regulatory scrutiny and promotional guardrails.

Able to work within multiple therapeutic areas and can quickly gain command of new areas

Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret scientific data

Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to manage projects with limited direction and work within tight deadlines is required

Familiar with research processes, PubMed, and other document delivery systems

Familiar with Veeva PromoMats submission processes

Commitment to staying current with medical developments and identifying new writing opportunities
