Forward Air is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Income Tax Analyst to join our global tax team. This role is responsible for U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax accounting, and supporting global tax reporting for a multinational public company. The ideal candidate brings approximately four years of experience—preferably from a Big Four firm and/or a large corporate tax environment—with strong technical tax skills and a solid understanding of complex corporate tax matters.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and review U.S. federal and state corporate income tax returns, estimates, extensions, and supporting workpapers
Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations, including deferred taxes and uncertain tax positions
Analyze book-to-tax differences and support consolidated tax reporting requirements
Support tax aspects of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q
Partner with international tax teams to support global tax reporting and documentation
Research tax law changes and evaluate potential impacts on the business
Support federal and state income tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries
Assist with transfer pricing documentation, intercompany transactions, and cross-border tax considerations
Participate in tax planning initiatives, process optimization, and technology enhancements
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and external advisors to support tax-related initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
CPA license or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
Approximately 4+ years of relevant income tax experience
Prior Big Four public accounting experience strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and corporate tax provision processes
Experience with U.S. federal and multi-state consolidated corporate tax filings
Exposure to international tax concepts and multinational company structures preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax compliance/provision software
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Preferred Experience
Experience with public company tax reporting
Familiarity with SOX controls for tax processes
Experience with Oracle ERP and OneSource income tax compliance/provision software
Prior experience supporting tax functions in a multinational environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Proactive, self-motivated work style with strong ownership mindset
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams
Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment
