Director, Insights & Product
to help shape the future of our DTC AVOD and FAST platforms. This role is a part of the broader ISA team but is dedicated and embedded in the day to day of the Sony Pictures Core AVOD/FAST business and combines strategic insights leadership, audience analysis, and product vision for data tools. You’ll shape how we understand our audiences, inform our content strategy, optimize monetization, enhance user experience, and build scalable data products to accelerate platform growth —ultimately influencing the vision, launch, and growth of Sony Pictures Core.
Responsibilities Insights & Strategy
Set the strategic vision for audience, content, advertising, and product insights
Lead end-to-end holistic insights strategy, integrating primary research (quantitative and qualitative), behavioral analytics, social intelligence, UX research, and syndicated data into a unified decision framework.
Advise senior leadership on content investment, programming strategy, distribution expansion, and monetization optimization based on forward-looking market intelligence.
Analyze the TV and streaming landscape to uncover genre trends, audience shifts, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities that inform content strategy and programming decisions.
Lead user experience research to understand customer behaviors, identify friction points, evaluate product features, and drive experience improvements across the platform.
Oversee advertising and monetization analytics strategy, driving measurable improvements in AVOD/FAST revenue performance.
Use social listening to understand audience needs, validate hypotheses, and identify opportunities for content development and marketing.
Track, contextualize, and communicate content performance and advertising insights while maintaining a strong awareness of competitive dynamics.
Establish scalable frameworks for performance measurement and insight dissemination across the organization.
Storytelling & Stakeholder Influence
Serve as a trusted thought partner and present insights and recommendations in clear, compelling narratives that inform decisions at all levels of the organization.
Communicate a strong strategic point of view backed by data and intuition.
Drive alignment across stakeholders by articulating a strong, data-informed point of view on platform growth opportunities.
Data Product Vision & Development
Define and own the multi-year vision and roadmap for data products and advanced analytics tools that enable decision-making at scale.
Lead development of data products—including predictive models, dashboards, business-embedded tools, and advanced analytics applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure data products drive real business outcomes.
Work closely with analytics teams (data science, data engineering, BI, and automation) to support execution and elevate analytic capabilities.
Lead cross-functional product development with strong project management discipline, ensuring timely delivery of tools and applications.
Build and maintain product roadmaps, overseeing the full lifecycle from concept to launch to iteration.
Leadership
Train, mentor, and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture.
Influence broader ISA strategy and contribute to enterprise data transformation initiatives.
Experience & Skills
10+ years of experience in media, streaming, digital entertainment, product analytics, or strategic insights leadership.
Proven experience leading insights strategy within AVOD, FAST, SVOD, or digital platform environments.
Demonstrated success building and scaling data-driven products or advanced analytics capabilities.
Deep expertise in audience analytics, monetization measurement, content performance evaluation, and UX research.
Strong understanding of the evolving TV and streaming ecosystem across linear, digital, and emerging distribution platforms.
Experience advising executive stakeholders and influencing cross-functional strategic decisions.
Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Excel) and familiarity with predictive modeling and experimentation frameworks.
Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in Agile environments.
Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills.
Strategic, forward-thinking leader with strong analytical rigor and business acumen.
