Job Description A day in the life of a Field Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As a Field Property Adjuster, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility involves traveling to customers\' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims nationwide, leveraging platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will focus on water losses, ensuring customers receive strong support and resolution for these claims. Responsibilities The Customer Service Expert – embody Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, restoring, and partnering with the customer in each claim. Lead with empathy, always. The Investigator – independently investigate property claims by performing detailed damage reviews and interpreting policies to determine coverage. The Effective Communicator – use phone, email, and video chat with customers to facilitate a fast, fair, and easy claims process; adapt communication to the customer’s preference and keep them updated on progress. The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in alignment with legal and business standards; apply tactics to handle challenging situations. The Problem Solver – utilize multiple tools (estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms) in a fast-paced environment, applying critical thinking to complete work efficiently. The Recorder – protect the company financially by executing policies and maintaining clear, timely documentation in the claims system you will be trained on. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired. Role includes virtual and onsite inspections; must be able to settle claims onsite. Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating is preferred. Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages and expedite settlements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service. Ability to travel to customers\' homes and handle virtual claims nationwide effectively. Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work. Residency within the posted location is mandatory for this role (north or northeast of Metro Detroit). Required Qualifications Must be willing and able to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one- to two-story roof. Valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel as part of the job requirements. Training The training program is designed to build a claims foundation and familiarize you with the systems and processes used daily. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement occur regularly on the job. Training Location Attendance is required for 2 weeks of training in Wheeling, IL. Licensing As a condition of employment, your office/area may require obtaining an adjuster and/or an appraiser license, including passing an additional background check. Licensing may need to be secured within 60 days of hire. If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you and the Centralized Licensing team to ensure you are properly licensed. Sign On Bonus You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-on Bonus if you hold the applicable active licenses for this role (e.g., Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State license, and/or applicable Appraiser License). Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.
