AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly‑owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP’s millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.
AARP Services, Inc. is expanding its focus on travel to better serve AARP’s extensive member base with engaging travel content and valuable travel opportunities. We’re seeking a strategic
Travel Marketing Director
to lead growth, brand, and performance marketing for a travel content and online booking platform. This role leads the full‑funnel marketing strategy—from inspiration and discovery to booking, retention, and lifetime value. You will oversee paid media, partnerships, CRM/lifecycle marketing, and performance analytics while ensuring all marketing efforts align with business goals, customer insights, and brand standards. This is a senior leadership role that blends strategy with hands‑on execution in a fast‑moving, data‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
Leads end-to-end marketing strategy and activities that support and achieve desired departmental engagement goals, including email, CRM and personalization.
Designs and delivers strategy to utilize consumer insights, data, and analysis to maximize revenue, with an eye toward innovation through testing. Partners with analytics and technology teams in order to leverage customer data and automation.
Documents processes and consistently evaluates opportunities for optimization. Tracks and assesses campaign results and adjusts marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
Collaborates and integrates with other leaders within the team and across the organization to align marketing priorities with organizational growth.
Manages marketing budgets, forecasting and ROI accountability to efficiently drive maximum engagement for long‑term growth.
Develops and manages strategic partnerships and other third‑party relationship agreements. May include media, affiliate content and co‑branded initiatives. Ensures partnerships support acquisition, engagement and brand visibility.
Defines KPI’s and measurement frameworks. Translates performance data into clear insights, tradeoffs and recommendations for leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with 10+ years of experience in marketing, media, or growth‑focused roles
Direct experience within the travel industry or online travel agencies (OTA) required
Extensive background in performance marketing, paid media, and customer acquisition strategies
Demonstrated success managing budgets, external agencies, and complex, cross‑channel programs
Highly analytical mindset with a strong grasp of measurement frameworks, attribution models, and ROI optimization
Hands‑on experience with CRM, lifecycle marketing, and personalization initiatives
Preferred
Strategic thinker with the ability to execute in fast‑paced environments
Excellent communicator and collaborator, with confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
