The Position:

A Senior Designer is responsible for managing the design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements while providing oversight to other designers. This role involves leading complex projects, reviewing design work for accuracy, and coordinating with engineers and project managers to drive successful project execution. This person also plays a key role in mentoring junior staff and optimizing design workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the design of piping systems and equipment from concept to completion, ensuring efficiency and functionality

Evaluate and refine complex piping layouts to optimize performance, material usage, and system integration

Provide leadership and direction to the design team, delegating tasks and ensuring project deadlines are met

Conduct design reviews to identify potential issues and implement solutions before fabrication and construction

Demonstrate proficiency in design software to support the development, coordination, and review of 3D models, piping layouts, and design deliverables across project phases

Facilitate cross-disciplinary coordination with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and enhance overall project execution

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Engineering Design, Civil Technology, or a related field preferred

Certificate in Autodesk software preferred

Minimum 10 years' experience in the preparation of design plans, profiles, and detailed drawings for various engineering projects. Education and related work experience will be taken into consideration and may be applied towards experience

Proficient in 2D/3D software

Excellent communication and technical skills
