Program Director of Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services Reports to:

CEO Position Summary The Program Director of Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services provides strategic and operational leadership for programs serving older adults and caregivers. This role supervises the Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services staff, oversees program performance and professional development; leads program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement; and ensures services are high-quality, data-driven, and aligned with organizational goals. The Director also advances community and funder partnerships, supports grant development and compliance, and manages program budgeting and resource stewardship.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Supervision

Provide effective leadership and supervision to the Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services staff including coaching, performance management, and professional development.

Foster a collaborative team environment through regular team meetings and consistent communication.

Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training for new staff.

Assign cases and manage workloads to ensure efficient service delivery.

Program Management

Establish clear program goals and success measures; collect and analyze data to evaluate outcomes.

Help develop and lead execution of the Senior Outreach & Caregiver Services strategic plan.

Identify opportunities for program sustainability, innovation, and growth.

Direct Service (as needed)

Provide direct services, which may include information and referral, support group facilitation, presentations, care coordination, caregiver consultation, or coaching.

Maintain accurate and timely client documentation and reports.

Program Promotion & Community Engagement

Serve as liaison to partner agencies, community groups, and funders to strengthen the visibility and credibility of SCS.

Collaborate with development and communications staff to promote programs through various channels, e.g. social media, newsletters, and public events.

Fundraising, Compliance & Financial Oversight

Work with development, finance, and executive leadership to pursue funding opportunities, including proposal writing.

Ensure compliance with funder requirements and prepare related progress reports.

Develop and manage the annual program budget, monitoring expenditures and ensuring responsible resource use.

Qualifications

Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Senior Community Services.

Strong supervisory skills and experience developing staff performance.

Strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and plan for long-term impact.

Skilled in day-to-day program operations.

Effective relationship-builder with staff, participants, volunteers, and partners.

Strong listening, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Demonstrated ability to maintain and teach professional boundaries.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to represent and advocate for the agency with stakeholders.

Master’s degree – Preferred

Minnesota Social Work Licensure.

Minimum of four years of experience working with

older adults .

Position & Work Details

Position Classification : Exempt

Employment Type : Full-time

Work Schedule : Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

Work Environment : Office environment with local travel required (up to 25%); ability to lift up to 20 lbs; prolonged periods of computer use.
