Job Summary/Description: WKYT in Lexington, KY, has an opportunity for a part-time Digital Content Producer to help innovate and expand the newsroom's digital reach. This position works closely with our Digital Content Manager to create and edit web stories and social media posts, as well as develop content for our streaming platform WKYT+. We're seeking someone with outstanding writing ability, excellent communication skills, and a passion for digital storytelling in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build journalism experience while contributing to a highly ethical, service-oriented newsroom.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (some flexibility)

Duties/Responsibilities:

Create and edit web stories for WKYT's website and news apps

Develop and publish social media content across all WKYT platforms

Manage and produce content for WKYT+ streaming platform

Reshape and adapt news content to best fit various digital platforms and formats

Create social media graphics, video clips, and multimedia content

Assist with photo galleries, infographics, and interactive elements

Gather and curate user-generated content for digital use

Edit and clip video for online use and social distribution

Monitor digital performance and help optimize content for engagement

Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and production staff to ensure digital-first storytelling

Demonstrate strong writing ability and excellent communication skills across all digital formats

Perform other duties as assigned by the News Director or management staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

Journalism degree (or similar) in progress

Demonstrated writing ability and excellent communication skills

Experience or demonstrated ability to produce digital, streaming, and social media content

Knowledge of various digital platforms and content formats (social media, web, video, graphics)

Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment

Strong journalism skills and commitment to ethical storytelling with a sense of service

Flexible scheduling and willingness to work a variety of shifts as needed

Enthusiasm for innovating and reshaping news content for digital audiences
