The role will support the Global Medical Affairs Lead for virology, and rare disease assets, with flexibility to expand as the portfolio evolves.
Detailed Description:
Provide strategic advisory input to internal Medical Affairs leadership on scientific positioning for assigned assets
Develop draft scientific materials (e.g., narrative outlines, slide content, publication concepts) for internal review and approval
Offer expert consultation on evidence generation approaches and scientific best practices
Support internal teams by reviewing and commenting on publication or congress plans (no ownership or approval authority)
Prepare written recommendations or analyses in response to defined project requests
Deliver services against clearly defined timelines and outputs, with internal teams retaining all final decisions, approvals, and compliance accountability
Develop and maintain the global scientific narrative, scientific platform, and long‑term positioning for assigned assets.
Provide support and scientific input into evidence generation activities, including Integrated Evidence Plans and lifecycle evidence planning, in partnership with Evidence Generation and Development teams.
Support under supervision external scientific engagement for assigned assets, including KOL strategy, advisory activities, investigator‑initiated research, and partnerships with external experts and advocacy groups.
Contributes to building global Medical Affairs capabilities and ways of working, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, ethical, and quality standards.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO THE JOB ASSIGNMENT SCOPE
Medical Doctor PhD/PharmD level in biological sciences.
Minimum 12 plus years relevant experience with a solid track record of achievement in a pharmaceutical company in Medical Affairs including experience in launching a new asset.
Experience in Virology including COVID‑19, Rare Disease and/or Vaccines is strongly preferred.
Experience strategizing and overseeing development of publications and scientific communications.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Purpose of travel (e.g., conferences, client meetings, site visits): customer engagement
Percentage or frequency of travel: 15%
Duration of travel: 3‑10 days per quarter
