Craig Technologies is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Bechtel and Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground‑based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Craig Technologies scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program. In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards. This position is for a SmartPlant 3D Designer who will prepare electrical 3D designs as well as 2D electrical AutoCAD and SmartSketch designs to support new facility infrastructure design for DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem‑solving abilities, can‑do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. #LI‑SNH Major Responsibilities

Plan, develop, coordinate, and review design work within a medium‑size electrical design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit. Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing. Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Coordinate and interface as directed with the day‑to‑day technical work of electrical engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters. Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management. Facilitate technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators). Prepare or oversee the preparation of electrical design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly. Develop Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Craig Technologies design guides, appropriate Craig Technologies Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices. Coordinate with client representatives as delegated to obtain approval on phases of work. Review and approve key electrical engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries. Mentor electrical designers and drafters by providing appropriate on‑the‑job training for their professional development. Additional Responsibilities

Supporting, coaching, and training less experienced designers. Modeling of electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, conduit duct bank, lighting, receptacles, etc. in a SmartPlant 3D model environment. Creating bill of materials and drawing installation details for the modeled items listed above in addition to grounding, lightning protection, support details, and other details using SmartSketch and AutoCAD. Performing calculations utilizing AGI 32 for lighting layouts and ETAP for ground grid layouts. Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines. Responsible for physical design implementation by producing drawings of interior and exterior layouts/plans/elevation views of the raceway design (conduit/cable tray/duct bank), equipment location and layout, lighting layouts, lightning protection layouts, and grounding plans. Develop material specifications utilizing the software SpecsIntact. Coordinate with systems engineering department to establish and verify design/project requirements. Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Craig Technologies and industry‑proven concepts, and procedures. Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Education & Experience

Level 1:

Requires an AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 10–12 years of experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience. Must be a United States citizen. Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check. Level 2:

Requires an AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 13–15 years of experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience. Must be a United States citizen. Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check. Required Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge & application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE Standards. Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database. Collaborate well with other disciplines. Cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings for electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems. Hands‑on and advanced experience using SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, and AutoCAD. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively. Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and layouts. Knowledge of Craig Technologies Corporate guides and standards. Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications. Express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally. Resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client. Model piping, HVAC, and Mechanical equipment in a SmartPlant 3D model environment. Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project experience. Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO‑9000. The salary range for this role is $120,000 – $176,000; however, Craig Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
