Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.
Valued at $1.6B, we’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.
Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.
We are seeking a leader to scale our design-for-manufacturing (DFM), estimation and quote function. This is a critical senior leadership role that will own manufacturability analysis, quote estimation, and pricing strategy and execution for a highly automated manufacturing system, currently focused on precision machining.
You will be expected to engineer and build scalable systems that enable us to rapidly ingest and analyze thousands of complex part packages per year, quote with accuracy, and attain quality and profitability targets. You will build a world-class technical team to support this, while influencing system-wide changes across engineering, software, factory, sales, and operations. You will scale your team to support new capabilities, materials, factory locations, part types, and customer complexity.
Responsibilities
Own design-for-manufacturing analysis (DFM) and recommendations for new and existing customers that leads to high factory throughput, low rework, reduced manufacturability risk, and smoother New Product Introduction.
Own DFM engineering, profitability, adherence, and time-to-quote goals
Build a cost estimation function that scales ahead of business growth, including customer + part volume, material types, manufacturing capabilities, and factory capacity
Own bid analysis, pricing, and risk estimate recommendations
Generate and drive new capabilities roadmap, including materials, machines, factory capabilities, and capacity
Drive strong feedback loops with factory operations, sales, supply chain, and customer success teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
10+ years overall experience, including 5 years directly leading teams
3 years of experience in precision parts manufacturing, including one or more of: 5-axis CNC machining, mill-turn, turn-mill
Demonstrated experience rapidly scaling DFM, estimation/quoting teams and systems
Experience managing large cross-functional teams (engineering, commercial, manufacturing operations)
Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills (everything from executives to engineers to sales managers and customers)
Experience in aerospace, defense, maritime, and/or aviation environments, including part portfolios and procurement cycles
Experience building teams at a hypergrowth startup
Compensation For this role, the target salary range is $190,000 - 260,000 (actual range may vary based on experience and performance).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Benefits
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
401k
Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
Flexible vacation policy
