We are currently looking for a Substation Physical Engineer with 5 + years' experience.

The Building Engineering Division at LaBella provides complete building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Services range from feasibility studies and analysis through project design and construction. Our engineers are well versed in new construction, renovations, additions, analysis, special structures, and design/build projects for a variety of clients.

Job Duties

Design the following portions of substations:

Control building (relay panels, facilities, cable raceways, trays, etc.)

Busbar and strain bus

Equipment & support structures

Assembly drawings

Cables and connectors

Lightning protection and lighting

Grounding grid

Conduit and trenches Perform calculations such as:

Grounding

Lighting and lightning

Cable ampacity

Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design for the projects;

Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others as needed;

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Civil is preferred.

5 plus years of experience in Substation Physical design.

PE license or willingness to pursue

Desired knowledge of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards used in designing substation is critical.

Periodic travel, ability to visit project sites.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
