About the Role A Service Desk Specialist candidate will be successful in this role if they have a technical and inquisitive nature, strong sense of teamwork, and a desire to help resolve problems. This person is customer-service oriented with a strong sense of urgency and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. A Service Desk Specialist possesses strong documentation and soft skills and is comfortable switching gears and operating within multiple systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and support day-to-day IT systems operations
Provide technical support to multiple teams
Troubleshoot, address, and resolve IT-related problems, including hardware, software, and network issue diagnosis
Administer operations of and access to critical systems, including Microsoft Office 365, Domain Services, VMware Environment and more
Monitor and support IT systems' performance, security, and availability
Documentation and assist employees in understanding security policies and best practices
Support compliance-related activities, including certification and ongoing monitoring
Implement and enforce information and data security policies and protocols
Help select and coordinate with vendors and service providers
Qualifications
Degree in technical field or equivalent work experience and applicable certifications.
5+ year desktop technology and user support experience in a technical enterprise environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong successful history with Microsoft, Apple technology support and troubleshooting.
Strong history of desktop applications support, e.g. Office365, etc.
Strong history of desktop standards development and automated image desktop configurations.
Working knowledge of Network
Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of management.
Strong knowledge Microsoft and Apple desktop technologies.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Strong teamwork style and behavior.
Microsoft Systems Center and AD management preferred.
Atlassian Jira, ServiceDesk and Confluence experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are typically performed in a manufacturing setting.
This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
This position may require working outside normal working hours at times.
