Role Description
This is a full-time role (located in Blue Bell, PA) for a Paralegal in our Estate Planning, Wills and Administration Practice Group. We are looking for someone with minimum three (3) years' experience. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as legal document preparation, communication with clients, mailings, manage calendar deadlines, document review, preparation of initial request for probate with Register of Wills, preparation of REV1500 Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax return, Form 706 Federal Estate Tax and other related filings. Experience with Lackner 6 in 1. Provide general administrative assistance and assist other staff by working cooperatively to achieve the goals of the firm, Some work from home is acceptable.
Qualifications
Legal knowledge and understanding of legal terminology.
Minimum three (3) years experience in estate administration and probate process.
Experience in maintaining tickler and managing all calendar deadlines for all related court and estate tax filing required for client file;
Ability to meet with clients and assess estate administration needs in relation to deadlines for attorney review.
Engagement Letter/Document creation and production: deeds, legal notices, agendas, agreements, last will and testaments, powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney/living wills.
Manage and draft estate planning documentation/estate administration memos; and facilitate probate.
Ability to work independently and prepare draft documents for attorney review in relation to all calendar deadlines, i.e., knowledge of preparation of initial request for probate with Register of Wills, attend virtual or live probate request for letters testamentary/administration with Register of Wills, preparation of REV1500 Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax return and other related estate administration filings such as accounting, US 706.
Knowledge of Lackner Estate Program 6 in 1 and document management systems.
Must be able to multi-task in Team environment
Must have excellent computer and technology skills; communication skills (verbal and written).
Experienced in legal document preparation.
Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication
Strong research skills, including legal research and case analysis
Attention to detail and ability to review and analyze legal documents accurately and efficiently
Paralegal Certification or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases (preferred)
