Category & Location Public Works – Full-time, Exempt
Location: Silverthorne, CO
Pay Range: $147,000 to $166,600 (Full Pay Range: $147,000 to $196,000)
Description As the Public Works Director for the Town of Silverthorne, you will lead a highly skilled and experienced team of public works professionals while partnering with a collaborative and forward-thinking leadership team across the organization. In this position you would oversee the planning, operations and projects of the Public Works Department, including street maintenance and construction, fleet maintenance, parks construction, engineering, traffic engineering, facilities maintenance and construction, water system, sewer collection system, storm sewer system and the Joint Sewer Authority. This position coordinates Public Works activities with other Town Departments, external agencies and service partners, and serves as a liaison to the Town Council and the community on all aspects of the Public Works Department.

Position Requirements Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
Eight years of increasingly responsible experience in Public Works Management, construction or related fields, including five years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
Experience with budget preparation and administration
Experience with preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), writing reports, and public speaking
Advanced computer skills
Colorado Driver’s License at time of hire
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Cartegraph
Work experience for a municipal government in Colorado
Knowledge of construction techniques involving streets, drainage systems, buildings, flood control, water distribution systems and sanitary sewer systems
Experience with the principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration
