
As Market Development Manager VésaleBioscience - Inteliphage, you will be the principal driver ofcommercialstrategyandbusiness expansionfor Vésale Bioscience -Inteliphage’s personalized phage therapy solutions. Collaborating closely withinternal teams (Field Application Specialists, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory)and external stakeholders (hospitals, clinicians, KOLs), you will identifytarget launch centers, build strategic partnerships, negotiatepricing/contracts, and secure the adoption of phage therapy in high-potentialmarkets.
This position calls for aseasoned commercial leaderwiththe professional credibility to engage key hospital staff and executives andthe adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving startupenvironment. Reporting to the Chief Business Office (CBO),you will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer (COO).
What your days could look like Business development and partnerships
Lead end-to-end sales activities, including prospecting, deal‑making, pricing and contract negotiations.
Develop client tailored commercial proposals that align Vésale’s value proposition with the financial and clinical priorities of each institution.
Close deals and formalize partnerships ensuring sustainable long‑term relationships.
Define and optimize pricing models for various healthcare settings, in alignment with corporate objectives and market realities.
Negotiate multiyear contracts, service‑level agreements, and supply terms with hospital procurement ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), hospital administrators, department heads and clinicians to drive acceptance of phage therapy.
Cross‑functional collaboration
Work closely with Field Application Specialists and Field Product Managers to ensure seamless onboarding, training and implementation at customer sites.
Maintain open communication with Quality, Regulatory, and Production teams to manage supply chain, product updates and service‑level expectations.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Field Application Specialists, Marketing, Product Management) to coordinate site evaluations, product demonstrations, and user feedback sessions.
Stay informed about competitive dynamics, industry trends and healthcare policies to anticipate market shifts and refine business strategies.
Present regular progress reports to senior leadership, detailing pipeline status, forecasted revenues and recommended actions for accelerated geographical growth.
Market launch and expansion
Identify, prioritize, and open new launch centers (hospitals and reference labs) across target regions.
Establish a structured business development plan, focusing on market penetration, account prioritization and revenue targets.
What you bring to the table
Seasoned Commercial Leader with minimum 8–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or market development roles within biotech or medtech sectors.
Proven track record working in or consultative selling to hospital systems, specialized clinics or laboratory settings, with an ability to engage senior physicians and surgeons.
Demonstrated success in sales, pricing strategies, contract negotiations and hitting/exceeding revenue targets in B2B healthcare settings.
Capable of crafting go‑to‑market strategies, identifying high‑potential launch centers and designing commercial processes that scale.
Collaborates seamlessly with cross‑functional teams (Application Specialists, Product Managers) for cohesive execution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (additional fluency in Dutch is a plus). Comfortable presenting to hospital executives and medical professionals.
Highly motivated self‑starter mindset suited for a fast‑paced startup environment, with the ability to adapt and pivot quickly based on market feedback.
Belgium, France or Germany-based and open to spending 60–70% of work time traveling internationally for sites or Belgium offices visits, conferences and stakeholder engagements.
