
Job Description
The Technical Trainer I is responsible for developing and delivering technical course material on the various aspects of the Ignition software, as well as maintaining Ignition certification. They deliver courses both in-office and virtually on a regular basis. The Technical Trainer I also provides technical help throughout the company and may help other divisions through various training tasks. Being located in the
Pacific Time Zone is preferred , but not required.
Responsibilities
Delivering customer facing beginner level Ignition training courses that effectively transfer knowledge and actively engage the students
Delivering training courses both virtually and in person
Communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Preparing and cleaning-up of classroom both virtual and in-house
Continuing to build Ignition knowledge beyond the ability to handle all customer questions in beginner classes
Providing learning resources and guidance to employees throughout the company as needed
Administering Ignition certification and assisting with any certification issues from IA staff or customers
Assisting with other Training projects or tasks as assigned by their supervisor
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Instructional field OR at least 4 years of relevant technical education experience
2+ years experience with classroom and eLearning instructional development or delivery
Must be able to convey a large variety of technical concepts clearly and succinctly
Positive interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and speaking skills
Familiarity with a programming language (Python, Java, C++, etc)
Familiarity with SQL
Ability to write effective documentation for processes and procedures
Enthusiasm for teaching
Experience with Ignition is a plus
Experience teaching programming classes is a plus
$80,000 - $90,000 a year
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $80k - $90k. This role will be paid hourly.
