Role Summary
TheSenior Director, Total Rewards is responsible forthe strategic oversight andday to day administration of benefits, 401k andrelocation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute an enterprise benefits strategy across insured, self-insured, retirement, and policy-based programs, balancing cost, competitiveness, and employee experience
Lead efforts to communicate total rewards programs to employees and leaders, ensuring understanding and value recognition of the organization’s compensation and benefits packages
Partner with key stakeholders within the People and Culture team, Finance, Legal and across the business to ensure Total Rewards programs meet the needs of the workforce
Oversee and administer Suffolk’s benefit programs, including health, life, disability, FSA, HSA, EAP, 401(k), leave of absence, time off, voluntary, and wellbeing benefits
Oversee company 401k plan and ensure overall plan design competitiveness and adherence
Monitor total rewards trends to maintain competitiveness and adapt programs in response to external shifts, like remote work trends or hot job/capabilities, and recommend updates as needed
Ensure total rewards programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations in each state and country in which we operate, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Lead the annual benefit open enrollment process, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for employees
Lead relocation program inclusive of vendor management, program design and communication of offerings
Financial oversight (budget development with Finance, budget adherence). This includes understanding of self-funded medical and dental programs
Lead the development of new initiatives to establish competitive and cost-effective programs that meet employee needs
Manage relationships with third-party benefit vendors and brokers, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effective solutions
Develop a methodology and execution of a process that ensure all benefit materials and policies stay up to date
Evolve benefits orientation to ensures scalability and positive employee experience
Prepare and present monthly KPIs to Senior People & Culture Leadership regarding benefit plan utilization, enrollment, and cost
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Professional certifications (e.g., CEBS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits administration, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
Experience working in a high-growth company
Strong knowledge of federal and state laws governing benefits practices, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA
Familiarity with Oracle (preferred)
Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
Ability to make decisions promptly and with confidence
Sound business judgment
Proven success as influencer and as a change agent

Compensation Information The expected salary range for this position in US-MA-Boston is between $201,000 and $282,000 USD. This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Suffolk’s total compensation package. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, education and other qualifications.
