Role Description
While this is a full-time, remote role for a Public Relations Assistant,
we are ONLY seeking candidates in the Greater Chicago area . The responsibilities for the PR Assistant include drafting press releases, assisting with media communication efforts, and providing support with public and media relations strategies. The selected candidate will coordinate with internal teams and clients, ensure consistent messaging, conduct market and competitor research, maintain run lists of to-do's or action items for assigned clients and assist with managing/updating the agency's website along with other administrative tasks. Monitoring media coverage and creating initial drafts of client reports will also be key responsibilities.
Qualifications
Proficiency in written communications.
Strong interpersonal/communication skills to support both clients and internal teams effectively.
Knowledge of public relations and media relations strategies, including the ability to monitor and report on media coverage.
Strong organizational and time management skills for balancing multiple, sometimes competing deadlines.
A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or a related field is preferred.
Experience in PR tools and platforms is a plus.
A strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive or sense of work product ownership and a fundamental understanding of the news media culture are all core competencies required of this position.
PR Assistants are expected to operate in a collaborative, collegial and cooperative manner with agency colleagues always and are expected to assist interns and PR Managers in meeting client needs in addition to their own assignments.

Salary Range Salary for this position, depending on experience, ranges between $46,000 and $59,000 per year plus benefits.
