Job Summary/Description: WDBJ in Roanoke is seeking a dynamic daytime anchor for our morning and midday newscasts. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with producers and co-anchors to deliver clean, compelling, and consistent broadcasts while developing story ideas and contributing to digital and streaming platforms. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Anchor morning and midday newscasts - Help develop ideas and concepts for streaming opportunities and digital coverage - Work closely with co-anchors and producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcast are clean, compelling, and consistent - Demonstrate ability to connect with viewers and the community both on and off the desk - Generate story/segment ideas - Contribute content to digital platforms as assigned - Build local contacts and relationships - Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: - Minimum of two (2) years of anchoring and reporting experience in a commercial newsroom - Proficiency in non-linear editing systems - Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field preferred.
