Experiencing using Drupal or other content management system to create and publish web content3. Experience using Mailchimp or other email marketing tool to create and send e-newsletters4. Experience using an event management or calendar system to create and publish events5. Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Stylebook##### Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics1. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records2. Ability to work accurately with attention to detail3. Ability to use correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and publication style4. Knowledge of desktop publishing, graphic design, and database management software5. Salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience.LocationOld Worthington Library#### PurposeUnder general supervision, the content strategist is solely responsible for developing creative copy for the library’s print communications and e-newsletter. The position works in close collaboration with the library’s graphic designer, social media coordinator and digital experience manager to develop original content across multiple communications channels, including the library’s website, Worthington Memory and social media platforms. The content strategist plays a primary role in developing the library’s brand identity and creates, from inception to execution, patron-focused marketing messages that amplify the library’s voice and build awareness of our collection, services and programs.#### Essential Position Functions1. Working independently, solely creates marketing content for internal and external communication, including newsletter copy, e-newsletter copy, web/landing page copy and various promotional pieces2. Sees promotional projects through from conception to implementation and distribution3. Strategizes how and when to promote the library’s collection, services and programs4. Plays a key role in building and maintaining the library’s brand and organizational voice across multiple platforms and channels5. Coordinates the publication of news, features and information about library events, materials and services on the library website6. Creates and maintains content on the library website to ensure quality, relevance, accessibility and accuracy7. Writes, edits and proofreads copy for both print and online publication8. Coordinates and implements a quarterly publicity schedule9. Coordinates distribution of library information and publicity materials to the community10. Writes press releases and maintains good relationships with the media11. Prepares monthly publicity packet for the Board of Trustees12. Assists with the planning and coordination of library programs and special events13. Assists with the coordination and implementation of innovative marketing and public relations14.
