Job Summary/Basic Functions The Coordinator of Alumni Programming and Student Alumni Ambassadors assists with the execution of a comprehensive alumni and student philanthropy program designed to strategically cultivate and engage alumni in the life of the University while helping build a strong culture of philanthropy at EKU.

The Coordinator of Alumni Programming and Student Alumni Ambassadors must be a self-starter who exhibits extraordinary professionalism and a strong commitment to the success of the team and EKU. The primary responsibility is to aid in the building of a robust alumni engagement program at EKU where alumni are invested in the life of their alma mater and in service to current students. The Coordinator will execute, evaluate and organize alumni efforts related to programming and student philanthropy.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

A bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis in public relations, business, and marketing or other related field.

Experience:

One year of work experience in event planning with demonstrated interest for a professional career in development and alumni relations.

Experience may be demonstrated through past experience interning, volunteering, or being otherwise engaged in one of the following areas: in Alumni Relations, Public Relations, Marketing, Student Affairs, University Development, or Admissions.

Job Duties

40% – Assists with regional, national/international and alumni programming opportunities that strategically engage alumni and provide benefits to alumni and current students. Assists with the planning of events that appeal to EKU alumni of all ages. Coordinates event logistics, planning, staffing and volunteers so as to ensure a positive and rewarding alumni experience. Completes thoughtful and strategic follow‑up with program and event attendees to ensure the maximum level of engagement is achieved. Assesses all events utilizing data collected during or following the event to evaluate overall success and inform future efforts – (Essential)

35% – Assists with alumni chapter, reunion and/or affinity initiatives designed to connect alumni and expand alumni networks. Assists with the planning of chapter and reunion initiatives deemed integral to the growth of the alumni program. Executes thoughtful and strategic follow‑up with participants to ensure maximum level of engagement. Utilizes data to evaluate overall event/program success and inform future efforts – (Essential)

10% – Facilitates the University student philanthropy initiatives and the Student Alumni Ambassadors programs. Ensures the overall effectiveness and continued enhancement of the Student Alumni Ambassador program in strategic service to the University. Strategically engages the campus in the cultivation of a culture of student philanthropy – (Essential)

10% – Aids the strategic use of alumni volunteers in service to fellow alumni and current students. Guides the work of the programming and student success committee of the Alumni Board, ensuring the work of the committee furthers the programmatic vision of the team and serves to enhance the overall alumni program. Manages and motivates board volunteers – (Essential)

5% – Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. Networks and complete professional development activities to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities. Attends meetings, training, and other events as requested. Provides backup coverage and assistance to other employees as required or requested. Offers to assist others in the department to effectively handle workload. Cross‑trains others and participate in cross‑training to enhance skills – (Essential)
