
Director of Camping

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position will be responsible for taking the initiative to develop and grow camp programming through effective, innovative, and forward-thinking approaches.

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation Management, Youth Development, Business Management, or related field is required.
Experience in non-profit and/or youth program organizations preferred.
Five plus years of supervisory experience leading operations across multiple sites, building high-performing teams, and delivering measurable results.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Platform. Familiarity with Web design and desktop publishing is preferred.
Must have exceptional customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.
Develop and utilize systems to properly maintain relationships with prospective and existing families, participants, and supporters of all resident camp sites.
Ability to build relationships with community leaders and develop partnerships to increase growth for all resident camp sites.
Hardworking, energetic, and problem-solving leadership style.
Proficiency in developing and leading a team of staff and volunteers.
Experience in developing and monitoring financial projections, budgets, and assessment of program effectiveness.
Ability to manage time efficiently to maximize effectiveness in staff oversight, relationship building, and administration functions.
Knowledge of the American Camping Association guidelines preferred.
Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, Child Abuse Prevention and Food Handlers certifications within thirty days of hire.
