Description John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Marketing Manager to support and advance our marketing strategy. Founded in 1928, John Tillman Company is the leading U.S. manufacturer and supplier of welding protective products. This role is ideal for a hands‑on marketing leader who excels in both strategy execution and day‑to‑day operations. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing on high‑level initiatives while owning tactical execution, team leadership, and operational excellence. The Marketing Manager is a hybrid position, based out of our Cerritos, CA, office (3 days in the office and 2 days remote).

Responsibilities:

Marketing Operations & Execution

Execute marketing strategies and campaigns defined by the Director of Marketing.

Lead day‑to‑day marketing activities across digital and traditional channels.

Manage the marketing calendar, projects, timelines, and budgeting to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

Track campaign performance and provide regular reporting to leadership.

Digital Marketing & Optimization

Execute SEO initiatives and optimize website content for search performance.

Manage website updates, user experience improvements, and agency collaboration.

Run email marketing campaigns and automation workflows.

Oversee social media execution and content planning.

Optimize Amazon storefront performance (in partnership with external agency).

Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics and drive continuous optimization.

Execute marketing programs with distributor partners.

Manage co‑op marketing relationships with national accounts.

Ensure marketing commitments are delivered, tracked, and documented.

Support distributor enablement and partner engagement.

Develop and execute sales enablement tools, materials, and resources.

Manage planning, logistics, and execution for 6–8 trade shows annually.

Support strategic sales opportunities with tailored marketing materials.

Partner with sales leadership on priorities, initiatives, and requests.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required.

8+ years of progressively responsible marketing experience with measurable results.

3+ years of experience managing marketing teams, including hiring and developing direct reports.

Strong hands‑on digital marketing experience, including SEO, website management, email marketing, and campaign execution.

Proven ability to execute strategy with accuracy, ownership, and follow‑through.

Proficiency with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.

Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, marketing automation tools, and performance reporting.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Outstanding communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Experience in B2B marketing, especially within distributor or channel‑focused environments.

Background in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution industries preferred.

Experience marketing technical products with specifications or certifications preferred.

Familiarity with e‑commerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon Seller Central) and using AI tools to drive marketing efficiency preferred.

Tilman CA salary range: $95K - $120K plus bonus eligibility, based on experience, education, and geographic location.
