Director of Family Ministries (Part-Time)

Hours: 14 hours/week
Salary Range: $14,000-$16,000
Reports to: Lead Pastor
About the Role Watkins United Methodist Church is seeking a passionate and relational leader to serve as our Director of Family Ministries. This part‑time position focuses on nurturing the faith and belonging of children, youth, and their families through engaging programs, meaningful relationships, and community outreach. We are a welcoming congregation committed to sharing the love of Christ with all people and supporting families in their spiritual journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and lead children’s and youth programs, gatherings, and special events.
Build relationships with children, youth, and families.
Recruit and support adult volunteers.
Partner with church staff and ministry teams.
Communicate regularly with families and the congregation.
Develop outreach opportunities for new families.
Ensure Safe Sanctuary and child safety policies are followed.
Qualifications
Experience or passion for children’s, youth, or family ministry.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Comfort working in a church setting rooted in United Methodist/Wesleyan theology.
Reliable transportation and insurable driver.
