Job Description The Camp Program Director is responsible for developing and coordinating programs offered at Oak Hill summer camp. The Director provides supervision and guidance to camp staff to ensure that all specific duties are carried out successfully.

General Summary of Position

Develop and implement new and existing summer programs appropriate for our community.

Oversee and assist with daily activities, general camp operations and programs to ensure a quality camp.

Manage camp programs to meet annual budget and enrollment goals.

Ensure a high level of customer service for all camp participants and parents.

Ensure highest quality programming in a safe and healthy environment.

Ability to lead and teach activities, and instill confidence in others to do so as well. Develop opportunities for positive interaction between campers.

Develop systems for on-going evaluation and review of programs in conjunction with other individuals and stakeholders.

Maintain all necessary records and reports.

Must exhibit a strong character, integrity, professionalism, and adaptability.

Work Conditions

Perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.

Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years camp or related experience.

Minimum of one (1) camp season of supervisory experience.

Relevant previous experience in developing, implementing and administering camp or youth programs.

Desire and ability to work with children in an active environment.

Demonstrated skill and experience in program leadership and management.

Demonstrated skill in group process, with the ability to recruit, train and supervise staff and volunteers.

First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain upon hire.
