Technical Sales Representative, Industrial/Manufacturing Solutions Description Our client, in industrial distribution and engineered solutions, is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to own and grow an established multi-state territory. You’ll inherit existing accounts and drive revenue through a mix of engineered-to-order projects and faster-moving stock product solutions. Roughly 30% of the role is engineering project work (often 6–12 months), including OEM application discovery, requirements scoping, and moving opportunities from concept to production. The other ~70% is stock or modified-standard products and programs that close faster (often 1 week–2 months). Our client is looking for someone who can lead customer‑facing technical sales conversations, align internal resources, and drive engineering‑focused projects across transportation, industrial, and specialty OEMs. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable spending significant time onsite with customers and staying organized through long and short sales cycles. This is a great opportunity to join a stable, well-established organization with strong internal support, and significant upside, building engineered‑project opportunities, in an under‑penetrated territory.
Technical Sales Representative, Industrial/Manufacturing Solutions Responsibilities
Maintain and grow gross margin in existing customer accounts
Prospect and develop new key accounts within the territory
Conduct regular onsite visits and relationship‑building sales calls
Drive engineered project revenue within assigned OEM accounts
Translate application needs into product selections and solutions
Coordinate quotes, pricing, and timelines with internal teams
Present options that reduce total cost and improve performance
Maintain CRM activity, pipeline, and quoting discipline
Attend weekly planning meetings and track key metrics
Technical Sales Representative, Industrial/Manufacturing Solutions Qualifications
3+ years OEM‑facing technical or project‑based sales experience required
Ability to interpret CAD/SolidWorks drawings and documentation required
Comfortable with consultative selling and frequent onsite customer visits requiredValid driver’s license required
50% travel within territory (including some overnight stays) required
