
St. Paul Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, organized, and collaborative Part-Time Athletic Director to oversee and coordinate our athletic programs. The Athletic Director plays a vital role in supporting student growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership while ensuring our athletic programs align with the mission and values of our Catholic community. The Athletic Director works in collaboration with the school administration. The position is paid as a part-time appointment with the school and is subject to annual review.
General Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the Athletic Director include, but are not limited to:
Attend SPA School Board Meetings for athletics updates
Attend and represent St. Paul the Apostle at GRACEAC League and REP council meetings
Collaborate with the Athletic Board to develop and manage the athletics budget.
Request from SPA Administration with agreement of the Athletic Board for equipment replacements, new supplies etc.
Coach Recruitment and Support
Recruit, onboard, and support coaches, ensuring alignment with school expectations and league policies
Distribute and review the coaches’ handbook
Ensure completion of Virtues training, background checks, concussion training, and Athletic Handbook review.
Conduct end-of-season follow-up, including equipment return, coach appreciation, and surveys.
Administrative & Team Formation
Communicate league policies, schedules, and expectations to coaches and school administration
Organize teams using TeamSnap or similar platform
Oversee team formation, team mergers, and practice/gym schedules.
Ensure sports physicals are on file for all student-athletes
Equipment & Facilities Management
Distribute, collect, and maintain athletic equipment for all sports
Coordinate hosting of athletic events, including scheduling, supervision, and facility needs.
Communicate facility needs and scheduling with SPA Facility Director and School Administration
Serve as the primary liaison between coaches, administration, families, and facilities
Communicate clearly and consistently
Lead and collaborate with the St. Paul Athletic Board
Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends
