Overview
With nearly 75 years of golfing history and tradition, Pine Lake Country Club (PLCC) is home to one of the most scenic, challenging, and well-maintained courses in the Charlotte area. Spanning 157 acres and featuring five picturesque freshwater lakes, the course offers an inviting backdrop for golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Originally designed by Gene Hamm in the late 1950s, a native North Carolinian and collaborator with Robert Trent Jones (who also designed the Duke University course), the course has long been admired for its timeless design. In 1988, the course underwent a major renovation by acclaimed architect John LaFoy, who began his career working with George W. Cobb on the Augusta National Golf Club. LaFoy, known for his admiration of the legendary Donald Ross, infused Pine Lake with unique character at each hole.
The 18-hole course is highly walkable, offering golfers a peaceful escape from the fast-paced world around them. The design strikes a perfect balance, providing an enjoyable challenge for players of all abilities.
Pine Lake Country Club recenly completed a course renovation in the Fall of 2025. . Golf course architect Jeff Lawrence, in collaboration with Aspen Golf, rebuilt tee boxes, bunkers, greens, and updated the irrigation system.
