The Marketing Manager, Events leads event recruitment strategy and post-event marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, audience engagement, and fundraising outcomes. This role works cross‑functionally with events, editorial, and partnerships teams to deliver cohesive, high‑impact experiences. Reporting to the Managing Director of Marketing for Fundraising and Development, this role supports the overall events marketing strategy and ensures all efforts align with and advance core fundraising goals.

This role balances strategic thinking, communications planning, and stakeholder management, ensuring that communications are timely and create value for our donors.

How You Will Contribute

Identify different types of events and build the strategy and calendar in partnership with development and event teams, including smaller events, partner events, etc.

Define the value proposition for each event and ensure it’s clearly articulated in all event communications and deliverables.

Define audience segmentation and map how events fit into the sales cycle to nurture and convert prospects or engage existing partners.

Develop a recruitment strategy and post‑event content plan for events, in collaboration with editorial and partnership advisors.

Co‑create post‑event strategies with respective Marketing Strategists.

Identify priority audiences, objectives, and success metrics for each event.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with editorial and event teams on narratives, programming, and partner storytelling.

Own cohesive content calendar for tentpole events.

Align with events, partnership advisors, and leadership on approvals and reporting.

Operational Excellence

Help identify process improvements and efficiencies within workflows. Support leadership in building scalable processes.

Establish feedback loops and frameworks for measuring event communications.

Understand sales operations and work with the team to ensure data is added to track event impact and conversions/attribution.

Create measurement framework and report on event impact and ROI to leadership.

What You Will Bring

5–8 years of experience in event marketing

Experience in B2B marketing, working on sales events

Experience working cross‑functionally with creative, editorial, and operations teams

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong project management and organizational skills

Standout Candidates Will Bring

Experience with both in‑person and virtual/hybrid events

Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and event platforms

Experience in nonprofit, policy, advocacy, media, or mission‑driven organizations

Strong analytical skills and comfort with performance reporting
