Summary
Produces and details routine drawings/layouts of basic components, facilities, and systems. Generates and/or modifies two-dimensional drawings based on information from others. Develops basic CAD drawings and design models under the direction of a senior designer.
Education & Experience High school diploma and a minimum of one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Software Knowledge
Drafting tools, specifically CAD. Experience with BIM (Building Integrated Model) is desirable.
Travel & Location Short-term travel is covered but no full per diem or relocation. Position is 100% on-site.
Team & Mentorship New hires will be mentored and shadow initial projects until they have up-to-speed. The role fills the third of three existing teams.
Work Focus Primary work is mechanical with some electrical and fire suppression responsibilities.
Experience Levels Both Level 1 and Level 2 candidates are considered; preference is for more experienced applicants.
BIM BIM (Building Integrated Model) is a 3D modeling tool; future plans include building a fully-blown BIM team.
Responsibilities Conduct design reviews preconstruction, ensuring designs are ready to execute. Take native files for material takeoffs, assist procurement with correct material orders. Participate in a two-phase review cycle—initial and final. Supply craft execution with shop drawings (set drawings with dimensions) to aid in equipment ordering and installation.
