Career and Employer Relations Specialist (Temp) This position requires knowledge of the career planning and development process, career assessments, job search strategies, general counseling principles, experience working with diverse cultures, problem‑solving skills, proficiency with career management software, and the ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, and speaking).

What Will You Do This is a student‑facing role providing career exploration and career search strategies to individual students and groups in addition to collaborating with faculty, administrators, and college departments to identify, define, and meet student career planning and career search needs, including setting student success goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and conduct career‑related presentations using various delivery formats for academic classes, student organizations, and other related campus units.
Promote partnerships, collaborations, and positive relationships to promote the work of university career services to faculty and staff across the Georgia State University community.
Develop and maintain relationships with employers.
Mount career‑related events such as career and job fairs, panels, and networking to connect students with employers.
Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and college departments to identify, define, and meet student career planning and career search needs, including setting student success goals and objectives.
Contribute to the identification, analysis, and assessment of student success outcomes.
Maintain accurate student records and collect data for reporting purposes while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Oversee special programs, retention projects, and activities as assigned.
Participate fully in the overall activities of university career services.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree and three years or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in a college or university setting; experience working with degree‑seeking students.
Knowledge of the career planning and development process, career assessments, job search strategies, general counseling principles, experience working with diverse cultures, one‑on‑one and group counseling orientation, problem‑solving proficiency with career management software, and the ability to communicate effectively (writing, listening, and speaking).
The ability to conduct small and large group presentations will be critical to success in this role.
