Experience with Law Enforcement Agencies Experience conducting and/or reviewing Law Enforcement backgrounds (e.g., CJIS reports and handling confidential employment records) OR experience with the Law Enforcement background process (reviewing CJIS reports and handling confidential records) Valid Driver’s License from the Florida Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles by time of employment Preferences
Completed the CJSTC Conducting Background Investigations Course with FDLE Knowledge of 943.13, Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code Rule 11B Experience in personnel/human resources Experience conducting interviews and/or evaluating interviews Experience conducting reference checks Experience with reviewing criminal histories and/or other law enforcement reports Special consideration for bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission Candidate Profile (application)

Incumbent is a member of DFS Disaster Response Team and may be required to travel on short notice to support disaster relief efforts. The Government Operations Consultant III reports to the Operational Support Services Section, Office of Administration, Senior Management Analyst Supervisor. This high-level administrative role requires independent work to ensure efficient Employment Process operations, including testing and background processing. The position assigns investigations to DIFS background investigators, ensures timely and accurate completion, and coordinates candidate presentation with OSS command staff. Employment (Background) oversight Second-level applicant compliance review Facilitate Physical Ability Test (PAT) logistics Coordinate interview panel scheduling and documentation Evaluate and score interview panels Schedule and arrange psychological, drug screening, and medical exams Prepare background and offer correspondence Process fingerprinting results Audit support with FDLE and record management Maintain vacancy reports and HR liaison communications Update employee database and new hire profiles Prepare records and reports; participate in meetings and training Assist with special projects as assigned Review separation documentation and notify FDLE Supervisory responsibilities include managing OPS Background Investigators and workload distribution; coordinating with management on issues; ensuring policy compliance; ATMS duties; liaison with FDLE; CJSTC file maintenance; training delivery; and reporting. ATMS administration and CJSTC file maintenance Training delivery and development Coordination of new employee orientation and annual Interview Board Training Administration of CJSTC background course in collaboration with FDLE Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
