
Customer Service / Front Desk Representative
Location: Flint, MI
Schedule: Full‑Time — Monday–Thursday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview We are seeking a Customer Service / Front Desk Representative to support two Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs) who rotate greeting and assisting customers. This position is essential in helping patients who visit our location to order orthotic products, as well as assisting with phone calls, insurance verification, and order processing.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys face‑to‑face customer interaction, thrives in a structured, fast‑paced setting, and brings strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
A full 40‑hour workweek is required; occasional slight schedule adjustments may be coordinated to ensure full hours if needed.
Key Responsibilities Customer Interaction & Front Desk
Greet and assist customers at the retail site.
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries.
Receive orders by phone or fax, supporting patients, physicians, and referral partners.
Order Processing & Documentation
Record accurate and complete patient information in the computer system.
Process orders, update patient accounts, and maintain accurate records.
Secure prescriptions for orthotic and home medical equipment services.
Insurance & Billing
Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
Work regularly with Medicaid plans, Medicare, BCBS, Blue Care Network, United Healthcare, and the VA.
Answer basic claims questions and assist with billing processes.
Training & Support
Hands‑on, supportive training model.
Supervisor provides step‑by‑step demonstrations and then allows you to practice tasks independently.
First two months are focused on training, with full mastery developing over time.
Required Qualifications
1+ year of customer service experience (phone or in‑person).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent multitasking abilities and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and professionalism.
Strong data entry accuracy and general computer skills.
Friendly, positive attitude—someone calm, steady, and approachable.
