Junior Estimating Specialist
in
Fairfield, CA . The Junior Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate and detailed cost estimates for distribution and transmission projects. This role requires basic technical proficiency (civil and electrical disciplines), and collaboration across departments to ensure estimates align with project goals and organizational objectives, and client interactions.
This division provides construction and maintenance services to the electrical utility industry (including large Investor Owned, Electric Cooperatives, and Municipal Electric Providers). The primary services provided are Overhead and Underground Electrical Distribution construction and maintenance. Some light Transmission services, Street Light Maintenance services, civil construction services in support of electrical infrastructure, and targeted EPC services are also offered via MSA contracts as well as project bid opportunities. This division also engages in significant storm restoration activities for both existing on-system customers as well as external (off-system) customers throughout the central and eastern US.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Assist with data collection, quantity takeoffs, and cost input.
Support estimating department in preparing estimates and documentation.
Learn and utilize company standards and tools, including B2W estimating software.
Coordinate internally across project management, operations, and field teams.
Participate in client-facing discussions as needed.
Assist in maintaining databases for productivity, labor, equipment, and materials.
Position Requirements
Construction and/or estimating experience with West Coast utility clients.
Experience with EPC project environments preferred.
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Project, and Power Point is required.
Basic understanding of construction means and methods for substation, overhead, and underground electrical distribution work.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to establish, develop, and maintain subcontractor and client relationships.
