Job Summary In this highly detail-oriented role, you will manage billing and collection activities by reviewing overdue policyholder accounts, coordinating audits, communicating with debtors and third parties, negotiating settlements, and maintaining accurate records while adapting to ongoing change.
Work Location This position offers a hybrid work schedule after training is complete (possibly up to six months). Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days at home) for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events and will be located out of our West Bend, WI corporate office.
The internal deadline to apply is 3/2/26. External applications will be accepted on a rolling basis while the position remains open.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Summary of Responsibilities
Perform a variety of collection and billing functions.
Review policyholder payment records to identify policies with overdue payments.
Examine underwriting files as necessary to understand the nature of audits that result in overdue policyholder payments.
Draft and send letters to policyholders with delinquent accounts.
Engage collection firms and attorneys as needed to further the collection process.
Negotiate settlements and accept payments on delinquent accounts as appropriate.
Maintain accurate debtor files.
Adapt to and support continual change.
Perform other work as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Skills
1-3 years of experience in Billing and/or Collections
Customer service skills
Data entry skills
Mathematical skills
Detail oriented
Verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving skills, ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues
Critical thinking skills
Proficient in the use of computer software including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred Education and Training
High school diploma or equivalent
Salary Statement The hourly range for this position is $21.64-$27.05. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
