Location: St. Louis, MO. The Normal Brand has gained a reputation for providing durable and long-lasting products that is above all - comfortable. Jimmy Sansone started the company by selling online out of his parents’ basement in 2015, and was soon joined by his brothers, Conrad and Lan to run it together. They opened their first brand store in 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri, which has been voted the number one men's clothing store in St. Louis for two years running. The Normal Brand now operates eleven brick and mortar stores of its own around the country, sells to 500 wholesale partners, and sells online through its website, which serves customers across the United States and globally at https://thenormalbrand.com/.
ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DESIGNER In this role, you will be a key member of the Technical Design department, helping to create garments from abstract concepts to finished goods. You will assist the department in daily tasks including but not limited to measuring garments with provided spec pages, assisting in fittings, and sending fit comments to overseas vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work on designated styles starting from initial pass‑off through production using Creative Suite, PLM and Excel programs
Participate in handovers between Technical Designers, Design, and Product Development on designated new styles
Update and maintain Technical Packages for designated styles regarding fit and construction
Evaluate newly received samples against previously made comments, check measurements, and identify fit/construction/fabrication
Take notes in daily cross‑functional fittings providing garment history and assisting Technical Designers
Independently fit new samples compared to previous season's standards during departmental fittings. Present findings to senior Technical Designers
Import Fit Comments, Notes, and measurement data into PLM
Communicate with domestic and overseas factories. Timely respond to all inquiries and requests via e‑mail or through verbal communication
Assist with maintaining size & fit consistency throughout all styles per Normal Brand Standards
Assist Technical Designers with record keeping, sample organization, and sample processes
Have a positive, solution‑oriented attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Technical Design Assistant role
Understanding of points of measure, garment construction, fit, patternmaking, and grading
Solid understanding of fabric types, finishes, content, and how they affect fit
A motivated, self‑starter mentality eager to work within an open‑office environment and cross‑functionally
Must be positive, a critical thinker, a team player, very detail and solution oriented, and a fast learner
Meticulous organizational, time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Creative mindset with a great understanding of fashion market and trends
Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM)
