Grow with Confidence. The ideal candidate for this position would be located near one of the following office locations: Fresno, CA. Underwriters new to the industry will report to the Fresno office, while more experienced candidates can work remotely, depending on location. ProAg is looking for an Associate Underwriter or Underwriter who is innovative, builds strong relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for reviewing annual policy documents to ensure adherence to federal and company guidelines. Our underwriting staff builds meaningful, long-lasting relationships with agents and serves as a subject matter expert for internal and external customers. In This Exciting Opportunity You Will

Evaluate new and renewal policy documents to determine acceptability and ensure acceptance. Contact and respond to verbal and written inquiries from customers and serve as an underwriting resource. Cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts to facilitate the underwriting process, promote business development, and remain abreast of industry trends. Prepare quotations for agents and answer questions from agents, policyholders, or prospective customers. Utilize knowledge of automated underwriting and/or processing systems to develop information for new or renewal policies. Adhere to all company underwriting authority directives, underwriting guidelines, and other applicable company policies and procedures. What You Will Bring

A minimum of two years of relevant and progressive professional experience. Previous agriculture or crop insurance industry experience preferred. A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience. Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. What We Believe In

For candidates working in person or remotely in California, the reasonable pay range for each title is: Associate Underwriter: $49,500 – $91,600 Underwriter: $62,200 - $115,000 The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Company.
