Job Title: Small Market Mortgage Lender Under the supervision and guidance of the assigned manager, the Small Market Mortgage Lender is responsible for the effective origination, underwriting, analysis, closing and servicing of 1-4 family residential real estate loans. The incumbent will remain current on all mortgage products to offer professional guidance to borrowers in their search for financing. The incumbent will proactively learn and search for cross‑selling opportunities to maximize revenue generation. The Small Market Mortgage Lender will minimize risk exposure by adhering to all federal, state, and internal compliance regulations, policies and procedures. The incumbent is limited to serving a single smaller community within the Arvest footprint; that is, a community with a population of less than 40,000 and is either 1) located outside of a U.S. census‑designated Metropolitan Statistical area (MSA) or 2) located within an MSA, but approximately 20 miles or greater from a community with a population of more than 40,000.
What You Will Do at Arvest
Accept borrower applications, evaluating and placing them in the best possible loan products for approval. Know, understand, and follow the Arvest lending policy and underwriting guidelines for FHA, Fannie Mae and other programs and the programs and guidelines required for loan approval.
Follow up with customers to obtain necessary trailing documents.
Build a knowledge base of identifiable opportunities to strengthen the customer relationship with Arvest appropriately. Listen to the customer, identify a potential need and adequately introduce a cross‑selling product or referral to meet that need.
Participate and/or lead community‑related events in small market communities to create relationships with area realtors, builders, Community Action Groups and others who actively conduct business.
Resolve customer complaints or refer them to the appropriate area. Forward a copy of all written complaints to the manager.
Prepare, present and/or participate in seminars or information sessions for realtors, builders, etc.
Participate in bank events such as weekly sales call on realtors, builders, title companies, etc.
Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
Toolbox for Success
Associate's Degree or completion of Arvest Mortgage Foundations training or equivalent experience required.
2 years of sales experience required.
1 year of mortgage/real‑estate experience required.
Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
Physical Demands The associate must be able to travel occasionally by themselves within the US, possibly overnight. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Grade 13 Pay Range $22.50 - $28.10 per hour
