At Oregon Steel Fabrication, a respected AISC Certified shop offering in-house fabrication and field installation, you’ll build relationships and win projects across Oregon’s commercial and miscellaneous steel markets. You’ll enjoy the autonomy of field sales while collaborating with Project Managers, Estimators, and production teams.

Position Overview This is a field-based sales role focused on generating new opportunities and strengthening client relationships across Oregon in both structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
Hybrid schedule:
Majority of time in the field, with required in-office attendance for weekly meetings, strategy sessions, and coordination with estimating and production teams. Reporting:
Reports to leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly performance check-ins. Success Mindset:
Requires self-motivation, collaboration, and team support - your success is also tied to empowering the estimating and production team.
A company vehicle and gas card are provided. Regular travel throughout the Northwest is required.
Time & Responsibility Breakdown
Sales & Business Development – 60% Identify and pursue new steel fabrication opportunities Build relationships with contractors, developers, and project managers Conduct sales-focused site visits and pre-bid meetings Manage sales pipeline and report to leadership
Client Relationship Management – 25% Maintain contact with clients during pre-construction to support project success Ensure smooth transition to project team after contract award Attend networking events
Estimating & Internal Team Coordination – 15% Collaborate with the estimating team during pre-bid process Review project drawings and clarify client expectations Ensure bids reflect client needs and feasibility
Qualifications: 3+ years of outside sales or business development experience (steel, or fabrication preferred) Proven ability to generate leads and close commercial projects Knowledge of commercial construction and fabrication processes Ability to read blueprints (preferred) Self-motivated, disciplined, and results-driven Comfortable reporting performance metrics to leadership Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Oregon
