At Big Spaceship, we're explorers, not settlers. We partner with ambitious brands ready to venture into new territory, push creative boundaries, and lead rather than follow.
We're a full-service creative agency built for brands that want to break new ground. Our diverse team of entrepreneurial spirits, creative minds, and makers brings bold ideas to life for some of the world's most innovative and culturally connected brands. If you thrive on exploration, creative risk-taking, and charting new paths, you belong here.
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our finance team in a fast-paced advertising agency environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across client billing, media spend, and vendor payments, while also supporting broader reporting and reconciliation needs.

This position will collaborate cross-functionally with client services, media, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and support financial transparency across the agency.
Responsibilities
Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, client billing, media spend, and vendor accounts
Investigate, document, and resolve reconciliation differences independently, escalating complex issues as needed
Prepare and maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation
Support month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and variance analysis
Run hours, recovery, and utilization reporting
Partner with client services, media, and operations teams to resolve billing, invoicing, and payment discrepancies
Prepare and distribute P&L reports to stakeholders and submit financial statements to UK finance
Record journal entries for allocations of shared clients and shared costs
Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with internal controls and agency policies
Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and reporting efficiency
Create and maintain client jobs within the agency management system
Ensure client jobs are properly closed upon completion
Assist with audits and provide reconciliation support as requested
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and management reports
Requirements
2-3 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within an advertising, media, or agency environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas
Experience working with ERP or accounting systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Experience with media billing, client revenue, or vendor payments preferred
Familiarity with agency management or media systems preferred
Benefits The salary band for this role is $65,000 - $70,000. Where a prospective new hire's base salary will fall within this band depends on several factors including their qualifications and experience, the skill level required in the role, market rates, and the salaries of existing crew members at Big Spaceship/MSQ Partners within the same role to maintain equity.
