Job Summary This role involves assessing the risk of insuring commercial businesses, determining the appropriate premiums, and making decisions about whether to approve or decline insurance applications according to delegated authority limit and based on Company Underwriting Guidelines. Conducts planning efforts within your department, whether for day‑to‑day operational situations or assigned projects or to coordinate multiple resources within your department or division. Responsible for influencing decisions through fundamental recommendations or opinions. Maintain a direct relationship with Producers through immediate and effective attention to the service needs they present.
Essential Functions
Evaluates new business and commercial lines renewals to select new risks to underwrite and renewals to maintain according to underwriting guidelines.
Provides guidance and service to producers and, or authorized representatives by telephone, in writing or in person.
Provides follow‑up to new businesses that are listed to close them.
Evaluates the loss experience of the policies to be renewed, identifies cases with adverse experience, takes measures or requests notice of non‑renewal for them.
Evaluate, quote and issue commercial lines new policies, endorsements and renewals.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Associate's Degree
Experience Bachelor’s degree with 1 year or more of related experience in pricing and underwriting, financial arrangements and P&C programs. Or Associate Degree with 3 years or more of related experience in pricing and underwriting, financial arrangements and P&C programs. Or 5 years or more of related experience in pricing and underwriting, financial arrangements, and P&C programs. Strong analysis and knowledge in Commercial Lines processes is highly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
CIC designation (preferable)
CISR (preferable)
