
Responsibilities
Execute fraud analytics and strategies supporting Citi’s North American and global credit card and retail bank businesses.
Leverage data to identify fraud trends and design and implement strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud attacks across the fraud lifecycle, including application and synthetic ID fraud, account takeover, and sophisticated new attack schemes.
Develop new techniques and improve processes and workflows for the area or function.
Evaluate variable issues with substantial potential impact where development of an approach and action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
Filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
Leverage data and advanced analytics to derive patterns, trends, and insights, and perform risk/reward trade‑off analysis.
Oversee fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies, risk appetite execution, POS interdiction strategies and defect analysis.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide strategy recommendations based on data and trend analysis and implement mitigation strategies.
Build effective relationships within and outside the Fraud organization to help ensure successful and timely execution of key portfolio priorities.
Leverage knowledge of information acquired to identify potential process gaps and opportunities for improving effectiveness of controls and governance processes.
Generate regular and ad‑hoc reporting to enable effective monitoring and identification of emerging trends.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Three (3) years of experience must include: performing statistical analysis utilizing data tools including SAS, SQL, and Tableau; driving the development of processing documentation, mapping and redesign, business requirements documentation, root‑cause analysis, and organizational redesign; analyzing data across a range of information sources to identify patterns and trends, enable continuous and measurable improvements, and test hypotheses; processing and analyzing data in all types of formats, including writing complex queries in a structured querying language to retrieve data from raw files, reading and editing files using Python, and designing and automating programs; overseeing information databases, demonstrating structured query language joins, groupings, nested subqueries, views, and stored procedures and tasks to accomplish business requirements, and assembling KPIs and other metrics; and utilizing methodologies including time series, regression, and factor analysis to analyze data and report analytic findings.
In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience. Employer will accept pre‑ or post‑Master’s degree experience.
40‑hour work week.
