JOB LOCATION : Administrative Services Building DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift POSITION SUMMARY The HR Specialist for Employee Relations is an integral part of the Human Resources Operations Team working to support the employee experience, accommodations, internal investigations, and policy enforcement processes for the organization. Under the direction of the HR Operations Manager, the HR Specialist will collaborate with the Business Partners to address system-wide inquiries relating to policy or workplace concerns, and will be responsible for administering, tracking and trending employee surveys and other data related to the employee experience. The HR Specialist will assist with training initiatives, performance management, employee file maintenance and auditing, and other general office duties.
EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
EXPERIENCE At least 1 year of prior experience in Human Resources required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism, including maintaining confidentiality.
Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly learn HRIS and related systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment, including making decisions under pressure.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION Substantial sitting and walking. Moderate standing. Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). At times may be subject to high levels of stress, managing competing priorities, and peaks and valleys in workload. Requires considerable mental effort and logical thought processing.Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
