The role provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families. Services include one‑on‑one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers, briefings and presentations, and referral to outside resources.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
Develop and publish informational financial materials.
Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops (e.g., arrival, pre‑deployment, post‑deployment, and career events).
Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure online chat, video‑teleconference).
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues.
Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; associate degree + 4 years experience or high school diploma + 6 years experience may be considered.
Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.
U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congress‑mandated Organizational Conflict of Interest disclosure process.
Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
