We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Income Tax Associate to join our corporate tax department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, supporting the tax provision process, and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to develop their tax expertise within a dynamic and collaborative environment at a leading Fortune 1000 company.

Responsibilities

Assisting in the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and payments.

Supporting the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740, including the calculation of current and deferred tax provisions.

Conducting tax research and analysis on a variety of federal and state tax issues.

Assisting with the preparation of responses to inquiries from tax authorities.

Reconciling tax accounts and maintaining accurate tax records.

Collaborating with other departments, including finance and legal, to gather necessary information for tax compliance and planning.

Staying current on changes in tax laws and regulations and their potential impact on the company.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.

Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and tax principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA certification or candidacy.

Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., OneSource).

Experience in a large corporate or Big 4 accounting environment.

Familiarity with ASC 740 (FAS 109) and FIN 48.
