
BLT is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Leasing Consultant
to join our luxury community located in Jersey City, NJ. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for providing prospects and residents with exceptional sales and customer service, as well as maintaining awareness of all the happenings within the neighborhood and local rental market.
Responsibilities
Answering the phone and responding to in-person inquiries
Anticipate needs of the customers and residents
Understanding the rental market and comp set
Knowledge of the inventory and available homes
Must be able to overcome objections
Converting leads into community tours by following up with all prospects and providing helpful and compelling information about the community and neighborhood
Building a rapport with prospects and residents
Contributing to desired occupancy levels by conducting informative and personalized tours of the community that result in new leases
Performing background checks, credit checks and other responsibilities to see if prospective renters are qualified. Must be responsible with confidential information
Handling the collection of rent payments, security deposits and application fees
Building brand loyalty and achieving resident retention goals by ensuring that the resident experience is consistently stellar
Performing property walks of complex – including grounds, building lobbies and apartments to ensure areas are ready and up to standard for all prospective and current residents
Participates and encourages an atmosphere that meets and exceeds resident and customer expectations
Working weekends when prospective residents are out looking for their new home—three to four weekends per month with two days off during the week
Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office
1+ year of Property Leasing experience
Demonstrated customer service mindset
Ability to quickly build a rapport with prospective and current residents and anticipate needs to help provide personalized customer service
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multitask
Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills a must!
Weekend availability is required
Compensation Package
Competitive Pay of $18-22/hr, plus commissions
